Risk Management

Let’s face it, complying with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations is just one part of an effective Safety and Risk Management Program, and its just one part of LaPorte CSA’s comprehensive Risk Management and Loss Control services.  Don’t be the company with a transportation contract limiting your cargo claim exposure to $250,000 while you only have $100,000.00 in cargo insurance.  A thorough LaPorte CSA risk evaluation and recommendations on risk, claims handling, and loss control can reduce your exposure and save your company money.  Click here for more.

Evaluation of FMCSA Regulatory Compliance

LaPorte CSA can perform three levels of review to assess a trucking company’s compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).  They are:

  • Full Audit – Review of all accidents in the last year, all driver qualification files, all drug and alcohol testing in last year, all driver’s logs in last six months, all maintenance files, all driver vehicle inspection reports.
  • Mock Audit – Conducted in accordance with the procedures set forth in the FMCSA’s Field Operations Training Manual.  Designed to replicate an actual FMCSA audit.
  • Compliance Audit – Audit of a few randomly selected accidents, drivers, and vehicles.  Overview and assessment of the strength of the company’s safety and risk management practices.

All assessments involve review of the following:

  • Insurance
  • Accidents
  • Driver Qualification
  • Alcohol and Drug Testing
  • Hours of Service
  • Maintenance
  • Hazardous Materials
